Tamer Hamawi - Founder/Resident DJ

An old school raver from the late 80's, Tamer is an Aussie-born Egyptian entrepreneur with a passion for music and hospitality. Since his older brother first introduced him to German techno in the late 70's, Tamer developed a keen ear for electronic music in all its forms.

With his degree in Business and Hospitality Management, Tamer spent his 20's traveling the world working in all facets of the hospitality industry. After living in Tokyo and Argentina, Tamer returned to his hometown of Melbourne in 1999, where he opened famed nightclub Honkytonks. Honkytonks won numerous awards, including two-time Australian Nightclub of the Year during its 7-year lifespan, and to this day has maintained legendary status in the worldwide nightclub industry.

With the desire to travel the globe once again, Tamer moved to New York City and landed his first job in America as General Manager of Michelin-starred PUBLIC restaurant, where ultimately he met and hired his wife Blaire. Tamer's enthusiasm for all things fine dining, encouraged him to open four of his own restaurants in Brooklyn - three of which are still operating successfully today; Colonie (13 years old), Gran Eléctrica (12 years old), and Pips (5 years old). Governor was sadly lost during the floods of Hurricane Sandy, three months after opening.

After a 15-year stint in NYC, Tamer and Blaire then moved to the Napa Valley (Blaire's hometown), to start a family and open his fifth restaurant - Gran Eléctrica Napa where Salty Sundays was born. These days, Tamer's passion for electronic music is stronger than ever, inspired by his many excursions to Burning Man, where he has played numerous times. Tamer’s musical style can described as a sophisticated blend of house and techno in all its forms.

When Tamer is not producing Salty Sundays events or DJ’ing, he works as a restaurant consultant – sharing his decades of experience with other hospitality businesses, continuing his love for the food and beverage industry.

Blaire Carson Scheibal - Founder/Social Media, Marketing & Creative Director

Born and raised in a log cabin in St. Helena, California, Blaire moved to New York City at the age of 18 to study the performing arts at AMDA and The New School. Blaire has played various roles in theater, film, tv and commercials throughout her career, and continues to book commercial work in San Francisco to this day. Blaire has worked in front and behind the camera, through various creative roles in NYC in costumes and props / production with TAO restaurant group, one of the most successful hospitality groups in the world.

After meeting and working with Tamer at PUBLIC restaurant in Nolita, the couple continued to work alongside each other through the opening of Tamer’s Brooklyn restaurants, where Blaire developed her skills as a true hospitality professional. Their 15-year stretch in NYC came to an end when Blaire and Tamer moved back to the Napa Valley, to start a family and open sister restaurant, Gran Eléctrica Napa. Blaire played an integral role in the growth of the Napa location as the restaurant’s Event & Marketing Director and inventor of the infamous “Picnic Beds”. Her ability to coordinate and host large-scale events, as well as rapidly growing Gran Eléctrica’s social media following, proved to be an invaluable resource and was integral to the restaurant’s success. Even now, Blaire handles several social media accounts for local businesses with her keen eye for successful marketing strategies and tasteful style.

Coming from a exceptionally artistic and musical family, creating highly distinctive theatrical and music-driven events is in Blaire’s blood. With her Burning Man spirit, production and performing arts background + love of costumes, music, drama and hospitality, Salty Sundays is a true reflection of Blaire’s unique quirks and talents. As a Napa Valley native with a creative and intoxicatingly fun spirit, Blaire largely established the popularity of Salty Sundays.
